Gluten Free Snacks for Kids
When it was suggested to us that we remove gluten from both of our very young children’s diet, I was terrified. Not that they wouldn’t adapt, but because I had no idea what to feed them.

Isn’t gluten in everything?!

I also had nightmares of massive grocery bills and blown budgets thanks to my assumptions that we would only be able to shop at Whole Foods and high end grocery stores to find what we needed.
I’m here to tell you that I could not have been more wrong! Going gluten free (or even maintaining a “gluten light” diet, as I consider our family at the moment), is feasible with snacks and meals that are familiar to your kiddos.
As a bonus, many huge brands produce gluten free products that can be found right in the regular grocery store.

Once you get used to searching the shelves, you’ll see just how accessible the gluten free selection is.

All of the snacks I included are great for lunch boxes, easy to serve and are available at a traditional grocery retailer.
I linked them all via Amazon Fresh in case you want to create your own shopping list and have it delivered ASAP!
As a note, we are not approaching gluten with an allergy. Please check all labels and confirm that each product is not only gluten free but is also produced on a gluten free line if an allergen is involved. I am not a medical doctor or a nutritionist.

Gluten Free Snacks for Kids

Shopping List:

Chocolate Hummus and Gluten Free Pretzel Thins
If you haven’t had chocolate hummus yet, get on it! It tastes like brownie batter but is made of cocoa and chickpeas. Pair the hummus with gluten free pretzel thins – both of which can typically be found in the deli section of the grocery store.
Peanut Butter and Apple Slices
Many brands of peanut butter are gluten free, just check the packaging to confirm!
Bolthouse Farms Ranch and Carrots
Bolthouse ranch dressing is made with yogurt so it doesn’t hit as hard in the calorie department and it’s gluten free. In my opinion it tastes just as good (if not better) than regular ranch!
Salsa and Corn Tortilla Chips
Fresh salsa and gluten free corn tortilla chips have saved us for many a snack – our fave brand of gluten free tortilla chips are these, we like the hint of lime version, too!
Cheese Sticks and Beef Jerky
Double check your label on your beef jerky to ensure there aren’t any added fillers, but individual cheese sticks and beef jerky are a super easy on the go snack for kids!
