I honestly can’t believe that Georgia is old enough for a Big Girl Room!

In true form, not only is she ready, she has some design ideas of her own!

When I dreamed up her nursery, before we had the chance to know her spitfire personality, I wanted a space that was chic, soothing, soft and girly. In creating her Big Girl Room, I knew we were going to need to go a different direction.
She is full of personality, outgoing, silly, spunky, bright – and she wants + needs a room to match. I had a ton of ideas floating around in my head so I decided to put together a handful of design boards to see which fit best.

The second they were all complete, it was insanely clear which design fits our girl best.

You’ll notice in all of the design boards that the dresser stays the same. That’s actually the dresser in her room, we’re keeping it! I found it at an antique store for maybe $200 and re-finished it myself with chalk paint.
It’s a very, very common antique store find and it usually looks very yellow – with a little chalk paint and Rub and Buff on the hardware, it’s an easy DIY.
You can also find them on Etsy and Facebook market place, but if they’re already refinished, they will cost you. If you’re searching, it’s a Thomasville Allegro Faux Bamboo Dresser. There are usually night stands, too!
I also featured art from my favorite artist when it comes to bright, fun colors. Anna of Demi and Olive painted Georgia’s gorgeous canvas that hangs above her crib. While that canvas will most likely stay in her room (unless I steal it for another space), I want to add in more of her work so I’ve added pieces from her shop and Instagram.
As always, I designed with a high/low budget in mind, some items we want to invest in (the rug!) and others we already have similar on hand or have found great lower price point options.
P.S. You can see her Nursery in this post

Design #1: Delicate

Big Girl Room Design Ideas
Dresser | Lamps | Mirror | Chandelier | Headboard (Linen Peony fabric) | Sheet Set | Bolster | Throw Pillow | Art | Wallpaper | Paint color is Wedding Veil by Benjamin Moore (See it here) | Rug |
The dark pink, nailhead headboard is the star of this show – followed closely by that chandelier! The art pictured is very similar to her current piece, so I love seeing how it all plays together. She actually also has that mirror as well, so this particular design is the closet to her current nursery space.

Design #2: Boho

Big Girl Room Design Ideas

Lumbar Pillow | Throw Pillow | Tassel Basket | Pink and Gold Flush Mount Light | Raffia Mirror | Sconces |  Dresser | End Table | Frida Art | Coral Spindle Bed | Tiger Fabric | Sheet Set | Otami Fabric | Paint color is Wedding Veil by Benjamin Moore (see it here) | Rug |
I love blending traditional and non traditional elements together, so this space really sings to me. The classic bamboo and spindle furniture pieces paired with a wild rug, bold art, an insane raffia mirror find and unique light make me so happy.

Design #3: Relaxed Glam

Big Girl Room Design Ideas
Gold Frames | Light Fixture | Acrylic Bookshelves | Art | Pineapple Wallpaper | Pink Patterned Fabric | Paint color is Cream Puff by Benjamin Moore (See it here) | Duvet Cover | Throw Pillow | Monogrammed Pillow | Woven Headboard | RugDresser | Mirror | Lamps
This space features her current ceiling paint color and a fun pineapple print wallpaper for pattern and a steal of a deal on a woven headboard. The rug is a bit of a surprise but I do love the hints of yellow paired with the lakeside art and soft blush tones.
Which one do you think we chose for our Gerogia??
