I’ve been waiting for just the perfect occasion to finally blog this little cocktail recipe and national Galentine’s Day seems like just the day!
My adorable, macaron making, bow tie wearing, Cross Fit teaching Instagram husband Jonathan (of Jonathan Caleb Cake fame) and I spent some time together a few months ago playing around with all of the things that make us happy – pink macarons, gilded cherries, champagne and the cutest red cotton candy machine. What came out of it was nothing but sugary goodness that would be perfect for a girls night get together!
Keep in mind that these babies are super sweet (it is essentially liquid cotton candy after all!) so use a dry champagne for best results!
Cotton Candy Champagne Cocktail
To make the gilded cherries:
blot Maraschino cherries with a paper towel to remove excess liquid
Using a paint brush or Q Tip, gently paint cherries with gold food paint (can be found on Amazon or in any craft store)
Set aside
You can use either fresh spun Cotton Candy or store bought, but make sure to wait until just before guests arrive to make the cotton candy or open the packaging. Cotton Candy has a tendency to deflate in open air.
Place cotton candy in glasses, top with a gilded cherry.
As you serve each guest, poor chilled champagne over the cotton candy. The cotton candy will melt, turning the drink a sweet pink with a swirl of gold from the cherry!
Enjoy!
