Fun Fact: I love Spring denim. In the Fall and Winter I rock super dark jeans and by the time warmer temps roll around I can’t wait to bust out my white and light washed line up. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect white jean but today I put that aside in the hopes of finding the right pair of light blue, distressed Spring denim.

I ran to Madewell, my go to for a well made, high quality pair of jeans that won’t break the bank. For me, their price range is on the medium high side, but not such an investment as a Citizens of Humanity or Paige pair. They never stretch out on me plus they wash and wear beautifully.
For reference, I’m a size 28 or 29 depending on the rise, a medium or large in tops depending on the length and bust, an 8 in dresses and pants and 5’9″.
Here’s what I found today:
The Perfect Vintage Jeans
Wearing size 29, but the store did suggest I size down, I chose not to for length purposes

Ok, buckle up mamas because this little pair has a hell of a rise. Clocking in at 11 inches, this is by far the highest rise I’ve ever tried on. My entire belly button and then some can be tucked into that waist band and if that’s not a miracle, I don’t know what is. I’ll admit that at first, I wasn’t on board but the more I wore them in the store, and styled them with various tops, the more I was on board. The store suggested that I size down but I went with my regular size to ensure that the leg wasn’t too cropped.
And, after trying on a ton of jeans, I ended up buying this pair! I honestly surprised myself but I love them. The front will absolutely look like Mom Jeans if you rock a crop top with them, but as you can see from the pics, the super high rise isn’t visible with most tops.
High Rise Slim Crop Boyfriend Jean
Wearing size 27

| top, in a medium |
The boyfriend high rise super slim is brand new – the girls in store hadn’t seen them on yet – and I really did find them to be flattering, once I got my hands on the right size. They are boyfriend fit so I expected the leg and hip to be a bit looser but the actual size issue for me was in the waist. I ended up in a 27 (which is what you see pictured here) and think these are a perfect mom-on-the-go jean.
They are going to give you a looser fit in the rise, which is crazy comfy, and the raw hem is my fave. I’m tall so the cropped ankle is fairly high on me, if I did snag this pair I would order a tall online – if you’re not tall, this will hit you closer to the ankle.
10″ High Rise Jeans Step Hem in Pure White
Wearing size 29

| top, in a 10 |
So, I was very, very excited to try on this particular pair of jeans. This is my go to rise, style and cut at Madewell but finally available in white…and I have to say that I was disappointed. I loved the style, details and fit but didn’t love the fabric blend. Something about it just doesn’t work in white. I felt like it showed every lump and bump, which is not a good look for me.
The hunt for the perfect white jean of 2019 will continue but you can read last year’s round up here
10″ High Rise Tulip Hem
Wearing size 28
Spring Denim Try On

Spring Denim Try On
Oh man, do I love this tulip hem detail. This is the perfect way to take dark denim into warmer weather – how cute would this hem detail be with woven slides or strappy espadrilles? The rise is my fave 10″ and this pair is officially on my wish list. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this style, they’re just so flattering and fun.
Wild Card:
Ruched Wide Leg Jumpsuit
Wearing size 10 but I do think I could have done an 8, I just grabbed a 10
Spring Denim Try On
Ok busty girls, this is a jumpsuit we can wear! The back of this jumpsuit is smocked so it has tons of give in the chest while still being fitted at the waist, flattering our curves. The straps are adjustable and we can hide a full coverage strapless underneath. I felt comfy and put together and am ordering online in a long. Being tall, I felt like the length on me was less “purposefully cropped” and more “accidentally threw that in the dryer” but with a long, I’m thinking the length will be just right. I plan to style with a jean jacket and woven mules, with wedges, with converse, I can’t wait to wear it!
