Busting the January Slump: Get in Gear!

Morning ya'll!

Many of us are hitting the gym to keep those resolutions or bust the slump from the Holiday cookie weight. As much as I hate to admit it, working out really is good for the soul, spirit and body. I genuinely do feel better after a workout...sigh!

So, today I thought I'd share with ya'll my absolute fave workout gear in a Save or Splurge Edition.

With the exception of the headphones, I own and wear each item listed below...and I have to say that I've tried a million different types of leggings and I stand by the $8 Danskin leggings from WalMart all day long. They never slip down or move and at $8 a pair, how can you go wrong!?

I've also been pleased with the active wear from Old Navy. The black tank paired with the WalMart leggings leaves you feeling slim and tucked in. Old Navy always has amazing sales and I scoop up their active wear when I can!

Ooooh, Lululemon!
I adore the No Limits Tank...with those side cut outs you can't deny that it's a bit sexy! I prefer to be a bit in shape when I wear it because it can be a teensy bit revealing but I feel like a rockstar when I wear it. Yes, Lululemon is pricey, but I think the quality is amazing.

The splurge workout pants are from a brand called Splits Fifty Nine that I found through my Pure Barre studio in Greenville. They are certainly on a different end of the price spectrum than my WalMart faves but holy cow do they make your butt look good! I don't know that I'd say that they feel any different than any other work out pant, cheap or not, during a workout but they make my legs look a million miles long and my tush looks tight so I can't be mad about that!

Hope ya'll feel motivated to bust that January slump in a stylish way (and don't worry, tomorrow we're talking cocktails, so things will get back to normal around here!)

  1. For splurges, I love Under Armour and Lucy active wear (UA is my go-to brand for almost everything) but for savings, the Old Navy brand cannot be beat!! I have running tights from there that are just perfect. BTW - they are having a big sale!! http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=5508&mlink=5151,7468632,HP_Major_1_BKGD&clink=7468632

  2. I need to upgrade my gym gear! How do you feel about the hair ties...I''ve heard mixed reviews about them losing elasticity faster than regular hair ties!

    1. I don't super love the emi jay hair ties…i like to always wear a hair tie on my wrist for emergencies and i find that the emu jays stretch out and get gross pretty quickly. also, the ones with sparkles get stuck in my hair and pull it out when i take it down. ouch! i'd rather just rock the goody brand and not feel bad when i throw it away because its gotten too stretched out….

  3. Love these suggestions! I actually got a Lululemon gift card (aka the only time I don't feel guilty about shopping there) for my birthday and it's burning a hole in my pocket! I have one of the No Limits tanks already and I wear it all the time...but I definitely need to check out some of this other stuff for sure!
