So, I'm starting a blog! I will freely admit starting a blog is completely un-original, but what else is a girl to do after hearing the great big, gigantic. chilly news that her fiancé has been offered an exciting new job opportunity in an arctic tundra-like part of our country. 30 days before our wedding.
I'm hoping this little corner of the blog world (blogoshphere? blogshere? I'm still learning) will be a place for me to chronicle this next huge adventure in our lives. We are Southerners to the bone and I know we will face new challenges (shoveling snow? pardon?), adventures (Boston, I'm looking at you!), and trials (hello, first year of marriage) over the coming months. Think of Newlyweds: North as my scrapbook for myself, hopefully a 2 minute break in the work day for my best friends and confirmation that we are still alive and well for our mothers. By the way, this is probably the appropriate time for me to give a pre-emptive thank you to my mother and sister-in-law, Heather. I know the two of you will probably be my only readers, and for that, I am grateful.
Here are the things you need to know in order to enjoy Newlyweds: North
I'm Stephanie and he's Justin.
We got engaged July 2, 2012 and are getting married on May 25th, 2013.
Antiquing, cooking, traveling, anything on the water (big water preferably!), pretending to be inspired by Pinterest, really bad reality tv, forcing Justin to watch really bad reality tv, pedicures, sequins, volunteering with the JLG, champagne, blogs, girls trips, decorating (ie: shopping at Home Goods), Christmas Trees, 90's music, our puppy Macie and wedding dancing.
Clemson, Clemson football, Clemson football on TV, tailgating, orange, cornhole, winning, candy, playing with our lab mix Macie, driving fast, golf, helicopter rides, tradition, soccer, pretending to be inspired to do projects around the house, teaching his nephews about football, Monopoly, food tours, adventures of any kind, icing, travel, planning surprises and wedding dancing.
And now, without further ado, let the Northern Adventure begin!
