Hey ya’ll!

Today I’m linking up with my friend Caitlin for her Thanksgiving Recipe Link-Up!

This Thanksgiving is going to be a first for us – we aren’t making the trek from Maine to either of our parent’s houses.
Bold, huh??
So, are we skipping Thanksgiving?
Of course not!

We’re inviting any of our friends who might not be able to get home to family for traditional Thanksgiving Dinner and all of our friends for desert and cocktails after they are done with their family celebrations.

I have to admit that I am a bit daunted about cooking an entire turkey, but other than that, I’m really excited to cook my first Thanksgiving Dinner. The menu is still a work in progress, but I’ll fill ya’ll in as soon as get it all together!

Now, on to the good stuff:

As Southerners, we love biscuits…and I love carbs, so this recipe is a win across the board.
These biscuits are so, so easy…and everyone loves them!
They are always gone so quickly, I never have a chance to photograph them!

7 Up Biscuits:

2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup 7 Up
1/4 cup melted butter

Method:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Mix Bisquick and sour cream
add 7 up
Once mixed, you will have a soft, sticky dough

Melt butter and pour it into a 9″ square glass baking pan (or similar sized)
Scrape dough into the buttered dish
Butter will spread and may get on top of the dough – that’s ok!

Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown

Cut biscuits into squares

Serve with preserves and honey

and be prepared to make a second batch!

Trust me, I know that I’m photo-less, but ya’ll, I made these last night so that I could get photos for the blog and they were gone before I could get the camera out!

All of this Thanksgiving talk of course makes me think of family.
Today, I need to ask ya’ll for a little help…
My cousin is the momma to three little boys. Her youngest two are twin babies.
One of her twins was in an accident that left him with burns over 40% of his little body.
Thankfully, he seems to be finally turning the corner and may be ready to come home soon…but going home comes with daily nursing visits and his momma learning how to, and preforming, his burn wound care. This little baby has a long road ahead of him but I know his momma will fight, kick and scream to make sure that he is back to playing with his twin brother in no time.
If ya’ll could, please send happy thoughts, good vibrations, prayers and well wishes in the direction of this family and their sweet baby.

And also, make those biscuits!
